Mahatma Gandhi Marg is a popular place inside the Gangtok town. It is also known as MG Marg Market, Gangtok. It is basically an open street ( Bazar) market square in Gangtok town.  Every day thousands of people gather here. Everyone wants to buy something as a memory of their tour. In Gangtok tour, Gandhi Marg is the right place for you also can get some extraordinary local art, stuff, and handicraft items. This road is named after the name of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. There is a beautiful statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

Tourists can relax in all these places and enjoy the beauty of these places. Hotels, pubs, and restaurants have sprung up on both sides of the road.

Sikkimese traditional food shops are also noticeable in this place. The signature Sikkimese foods are Thukpa (a kind of Noodles), Momo, Cheese, etc. This is the only car-free shopping street in the whole Sikkim region. All Vehicles are restricted in this place, this place is used for pedestrian purposes only. The nearest text stand is about 1 km from Mahatma Gandhi mark. At the end of this market, you can find the text to visit the nearest sightseeing places.

Do Drul Chorten: Do Drul Chorten is a popular Do Drul Chorten Stupa in the Sikkim region.  This buddha stupa was built in 1945 by Trulshik Rinpoche.he was a renowned buddy teacher in the nineteenth century. There are 108 holy pray wheels around the stupa. Two Statue of Guru Rinpoche situated adjoin this stupa.

Mahatma Gandhi Market can be visited at any time in the year. But the main attraction of the tourists is the natural beauty of Gangtok and the incredible destination of Gangtok. The Annual Food and Culture Festival of Gangtok held here in December. So, If you are planning for a Gangtok trip in December;  then you can get a bonus experience from Gangtok. Various types of cultural shows performed here.  

 This market opened at 09: 00 AM, And shut down around 08:00 PM. Although some restaurants open till 09:30 pm.on the offseason this time shrinks a little bit, around 01:30 hours. The market closed on Tuesdays 

Sikkim is one of the cleanest states in India. The Sikkim government is very keen on its cleanliness. They don’t allow garbage here and there. So you need to be aware of this sensitive matter,  otherwise, you have to face penalty charges.
