Gangtok is a popular holiday destination.it is the capital of Sikkim. Every year thousands of visitors visit Gangtok Sikkim and enjoy the Gangtok ropeway. Without the cable car ride, the Gangtok tour isn’t complete. Sikkim tourism department introduced that cable car in 2003. The length of the cable car route is almost one kilometer. On a round trip, you can experience a ride of almost two-kilometer. The duration of each ride is almost 10-12 min.

Each cable car carried up to 24 passengers. But in the offseason, they don’t wait for full car passengers. However,  they wait a little bit more in season time to fill the cable car in every ride.

There is no sitting option beside the cable car. For the best viewing experience, you should take a position near the window of the cable car.

On a fogless sunny day,  you can enjoy the authentic view of Gangtok town surrounded by the mountains. Before your Gangtok trip or at the end of your Gangtok trip you can see all the visiting places in a nutshell from the cable car.

There are three stations of this ropeway. The nearest station to Gangtok town is Deorali. Deorali is almost 500 meters away from the MG Marg of Gangtok town.  You can easily reach by walking from Mahatma Gandhi Marg Gangtok. After purchasing your ticket you wait in the waiting room for your turn. Therefore,  you have to use the lift to elevate 100 meters above to reach the ropeway station.  In the middle of the way, the cable car stopped for some time to enjoy the ultimate view of Gangtok.
