History Behind Ganesh Chaturthi

There is no exact information available regarding the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi. However, according to recent historical facts, The first Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in the sixteenth century. Lokmanya Tilak, a popular Indian freedom fighter, greatly influenced this puja in the nineteenth century. Ganesh puja is also notable in the Mughal emperor. In the 16th-century Shivaji Maharaja first celebrated Ganesh puja publically. Then Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj sponsored a lot for this purpose.
