Bogibeel bridge is the largest rail cum road bridge in India. It is located in Assam in India. The foundation stone of this Bridge was established in January 1997 by then prime minister. The bridge inaugurated in 2020 after lengthy construction work. Popular constriction Company Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), and Gammon India constrict this bridge. It takes almost 200 months to complete This Signature constriction. This is truly a great architecture in its own segment. Fully welded steel and concrete beam have been used to creating bridges.

The length of the bridge has made it the second-longest bridge in the world on the basis of rail cum road bridge. However its the longest rail cum road bridge in India. The present Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the bridge in December 2018. The total cost to build the bridge is ₹5,960 crores. But Initially, the total estimated cost of building the bridge was ₹1,767 crore. Engineers determine the bridge’s life span to be 120 years.

History Of Bogibeel Bridge
The bridge was first planned as part of Assam’s infrastructure projects in 1985. The foundation stone of the bridge laid in January 1997. But during the time of the next prime minister( Atal Bihari Vajpayee ), the main task of building the bridge began. However, for financial support and natural disaster, the construction of the bridge halted until 2007. Therefore, with the financial support of the Indian Railway, the construction of the bridge started again. This bridge designed in the style of the Truss bridge. Present prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this bridge on 25th December 2018, on the birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This bridge dedicated to famous film-maker Bhupen Hazarika.
