Manali is one of the very popular destinations in North India. It is also popular for winter activities, gorgeous sightseeing, and thrilling adventures. Must experience activities that can’t be missed in Manali are paragliding,  rafting,  maintaining, and much more. Every year lots of adventure seekers come here to experience mountaineering in the Pirpanjal mountains.  Every month Manali is known for its own amazing beauty and weather. But now the question is;  what is the best time to visit Manali then follow the article. Here I separate the whole year in just three parts by some basic parameters like an advantage,  disadvantage,  weather, etc.

In a nutshell, September to mid-June is the best time to visit Manali. However,  let’s see details about the best time to visit Manali. 

January – March:

If you planning Manali between January to March then you can enjoy popular snow activities. You can find snow cover Solang Valley at this time. The best activities that you can enjoy are skating,  tube riding,  snow scooter,  ATV ride, etc. For family tour or solo ride in Manali, January to March is best time.

However, the disadvantage of this time is you can’t experience the snowfall.  The snowfall stopped at the end of December.  But the winter exists till mid-March. So this time you can enjoy snow all over the region. 

April-June : 

After a long winter season, warm sun rays transmit new life between plants and animals. Various types of colorful flowers bloom surround the mountain valley. The summer season basically starts from April and exists until June. It is the high pick season in Manali. Lots of tourists visit here at this time. Popular paragliding in Manali starts from the first week of April. Besides this,  other popular activities are Rafting,  snow trekking,  camping,  rock climbing, etc. 

At this time you found lots of visitors. Sometimes you can’t get a perfect place for camping.  

If you plan Manali with your whole family then you can go for the summer season. It’s the best weather conditions for any aged person. Another notable event, the Hadimba festival occurred in the month of May. The festival as well as the Hadimba Temple of Manali dedicated to the wife of Bhima from Mahabharata. Local Hidimba Temple is also known as Dhungari Temple. Local women performed traditional cultural events throughout the festival. Overall,  this is the best time to visit Manali to experience local culture and beauty. 

July – September:

From the first month of July monsoon knocked on the door the Manali. The average temperature fluctuates between 10-20 degrees Celsius.  However,  a significant number of travelers visit Manali at this time. 

Land erosion occurred due to heavy rains. As a result,  roads become too difficult to access. Especially bike riders have to face mud and big holes on road.  So,  you should avoid monsoon to visit Manali. 

Most thrilling activities,  Rafting, and paragliding are closed between mid-July to mid-September.  However, you can teste another activity in Manali. 

October – November

Mainly remembered for the Dussehra festival. People from different parts of the country come during this time to participate in the festival. Whole city as well as the ancient temples of Manali decorated with colorful lights. 

From the starting month of October, the temperature started to fall.  And till the mid-October temperature hit 0 to 3 degree Celsius. Thereafter Manali exposed her beauty of winter. Till the first week of November snow-covered all the mountains peaks and surrounded region. Snow-covered houses, trees, and sunrise behind the snow-covered mountains give you the feeling of best Winter paradise on earth. 

Manali hill station is also known for its authentic honeymoon destiny. Gorgeous sightseeing and preferable weather give a new couple an opportunity to get to know each other and make a strong bond. November to February is the best time for honeymoon in Manali.
